My name is Teresa Baumberger and I have been supporting neurodivergent individuals with varying abilities and needs for just about 14 years. I have held a number of different positions in the field, ranging from a Direct Support Professional, to a Care Manager (formerly called Medicaid Service Coordinators MSC), to Care Manager Supervisor and Support Broker.

I have been brokering since 2014, as an independent and with an agency at other times.

In 2025, I decided it was time to branch off as an independent Support Broker and create this LLC to also offer consulting services to Self-Directed families.

My experiences in this field have given me a vast knowledge base in how the OPWDD system, Care Management system, brokerage and Fiscal Intermediary’s work. I continue to learn as these systems adapt to meet the needs of our people and value the connections and networks I have formed throughout the years.

Connecting with families is the most important piece of this position and advocating for their loved ones needs is what I strive to do. Hearing their concerns, giving them a voice and providing information and education to support them is what Community Compass is all about.
